Challenges you face when learning/teaching online

In the year 2021, the educational system has evolved to include online schooling. When schooling initially shifted online because to covid19 constraints, everyone thought it would be a one-time adjustment, but over a time later, schools are still operating online. The world is still dealing with the effects of the pandemic, and education will continue to be delivered online for the foreseeable future. In comparison to 2019, there has been fast online development and changes in the manner that online education is taught.

There are several challenges when working with pupils who are only available online.

Passive Students

Online education, unless well created with deliberate instructional design decisions, can sadly turn students into passive learners. These disengaged students may absorb the required lecture content and pass their exams, but they seldom apply what they've learned outside of the virtual classroom or establish connections with previously taught information. Because pupils require several contacts with new content in order to completely digest and assimilate it, this is the case. Students must be involved in the quality, breadth, and depth of their learning in order for it to be genuinely effective.

Making contact with students

One of the difficulties with online classrooms is that most of the learning is done asynchronously, and students frequently feel cut off from their teacher and colleagues. It's tough for instructors to teach online when they don't know how well their students are grasping course material or participating in learning activities.

Collaboration is encouraged.

One of the most critical aspects of successful online education is student interaction. One of the most difficult aspects of teaching is doing it well. Collaborative involvement inspires learning and encourages a more in-depth and critical understanding of the subject matter. Unfortunately, one of the drawbacks of online learning is that teamwork is difficult to establish when students are not physically present at the same time. Many debate topics do not encourage natural discourse. Because posts are asynchronous, formal replies to prompts, the mandated "class discussion" that incorporates other students' viewpoints is understandably forced. Rather than group activities, such forums are more analogous to written response papers.

As a result of the mentioned challenges, every teacher must learn to overcome them to the greatest extent feasible and to keep the attention of his or her students to the best of his or her ability. With the right technology these issues may be efficiently remedied. Initially, online lessons were held using a variety of readily accessible and free software that was not specifically created for the purpose. More specialized software solutions are now available, which give a significantly more complex and interesting teaching/learning experience.
